Application video – nC Corrosion Passivator Fluid
Application Instructions – nC Corrosion Passivator Fluid (floating)
Product Information
nC Corrosion Passivator Fluid is developed for corroded surfaces in tanks and confined spaces.
Fluid is a fast solution with minimal surface preparation. Single layer application provides long lasting corrosion protection.
Scope of the application for this application video:
floating between the hold floor and the bottom plating.
Corrosion Passivator Fluid is suitable for dry and damp surfaces.
- Consumption when floating: 1 L per m³
- Consumption when rolling/spraying: 1 L per 5 m²
Protect yourself
Always wear the recommended Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
Step 1: Application Setup
Because in this case the ship has no vent holes, six holes have been cut in the hold floor.
Distribute the nC Corrosion Passivator Fluid over the holes, so that it spreads evenly throughout the tanks.
Shake the remaining part well, to ensure complete mixing of the active component and the carrier.
Step 2: Application Process
Fluid floats on water. By slowly filling the tanks with water, the Corrosion Passivator can bond to the steel and react.
Then weld the holes closed, and slowly fill the tanks to the maximum level.
Slowly pump out the tanks. This keeps the Corrosion Passivator Fluid on the surface, preventing it from being pumped out of the tanks or minimizing its loss.
Important Notes
- Corrosion Passivator Fluid must not be released into the surface water. Dispose of wastewater in accordance with applicable regulations.
- After treatment with Corrosion Passivator Fluid the surface turns to dark anthracite. This makes inspection easy.
- Dark or matte surface = no active rust.
